Soundtracks and Sources for Studying

Crafting your Playlist

When crafting your playlist select music/sounds you enjoy and give you a positive feeling.

  • 50-80 beats per minute (not too slow to put you to sleep or too fast to lose focus)
  • Instrumental (no words, doesn't have to be classical music)
  • Ambient sounds/ASMR
  • Nature sounds (rain, crackling fire)
  • Music with lyrics in a language you do not speak

Possible Benefits

Possible benefits of studying with music:

  • Relaxes the mind
  • Increase concentration
  • Improves focus
  • Improve mood
  • Increase motivation

Keep in mind that not everyone finds music helpful when studying.

Take Breaks

Remember to take study breaks!

When? After an hour or so after studying or when you don't feel you're retaining information.

Why? Your brain like a muscle needs rest. Your eyes need a rest too!
