No matter what your source is or where you find it, you'll want to do some basic evaluation to determine if the information is credible and relevant to your topic. Make sure to look especially closely at websites--they can be excellent sources of information but they do need to be checked for accuracy! We recommend the TRAAP Test and the SIFT Method to determine trustworthiness of a website.
TRAAP stands for timeliness, relevance, authority, accuracy and purpose.
SIFT stands for stop, investigate the source, find better coverage and trace claims to original contexts.
