At each campus, books are organized using the Library of Congress (LC) Classification System. To find a book on the shelf, you will need some information from the Library Catalog. Under the title of the book in the catalog, you will see the Campus, Section, and Call Number.
For example, this information may be listed as Available at Brookhaven Campus (Brookhaven is the Campus where this book is located) Main Collection or in this case, Leisure Reading Collection (the section where this book is located in library) Z 286 .Z54 T63 2006 (the call number tells where this book is shelved in the library).
Zines are more challenging to browse in our print collection at the library, because subjects can be about anything, across the entire LC Classification System. We recommend having a list of titles ready with you before you approach the shelves.
If you find a book about zines that you would like to access, but Dallas College does not own or provide access to it, request the book through Interlibrary Loan. Check this guide to learn more about this service.
