Basic Format:
To find the version and release date of the generative AI tool you are using, ask for that information in the chat interface.
For example, you can ask, "What version of ChatGPT is this?" and "What is the release date for that version of ChatGPT?"
Note: APA considers the author of generative AI to be the maker of the AI tool that generated it, in this case Open AI. If you cite more than one instance of material generated by the same AI tool in your work, follow APA rules for citing more than one work with the same author and publication year. In such a case, on the reference page add a lower-case letter to the year of publication, like this:
Open AI. (2023a). ChatGPT (Mar 14 version) [Large language model]. https://chatgpt.com/
Open AI. (2023b). ChatGPT (Mar 14 version) [Large language model]. https://chatgpt.com/
Open AI. (2023c). ChatGPT (Mar 14 version) [Large language model]. https://chatgpt.com/
